Dr. Peirong Jiao received his Ph.D. in Preventive Veterinary Medicine from Harbin Veterinary Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences (CAAS) in 2007. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of animal infectious diseases in the College of Veterinary Medicine, South China Agricultural University, China. His research interests focus on the pathogenesis, evolution and host innate immune responses of avian influenza viruses in China, and development of new vaccine and diagnostic methods for avian influenza viruses. He has published 110 research articles including more than 40 peer-reviewed journal papers (written in English) indexed by Science Citation Index, including PNAS, Emerging Infectious Diseases, Journal of Virology, Frontiers in Immunology, Frontiers in Microbiology, Veterinary Research, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, Poultry Science.
Dr. Jiao serves as an editor for several journals, including BioMed Research International (2013-2014), Journal of Immunology Research (2013-present) and Peer J (2014-present). He serves as a reviewer for several journals, including International Reviews of Immunology、Frontiers in Microbiology、Scientific Reports、Infection, Genetics and Evolution、Virology Journal、Future Virology、Veterinary Microbiology、Journal of Veterinary Science、British Poultry Science.
